Bullwhip Braided Leather Bar Wraps

Our natural leather "bullwhip" style braid makes a tactile, cushioning wrap that looks amazing and stays fast in place.

Durable in the elements, warm to the touch, and grippier when wet, our natural leather is a performance material with a lush look and outstanding handfeel.

Overlapping layers of high quality American leather provide more cushioning, and hand-finished edging assures it lays well. The signature, small diamond pattern visually complements the diameter of the bar.

Like our other bar wraps, the Bullwhip Bar Wraps come as a kit that you braid and stitch on yourself with pre-punched stitching holes, needle, thread, and instructions.

The natural oils in your hands burnish  our high-quality American leather into a glossy patina that will last you a lifetime. You get to keep the patina you've earned: you can transfer it from bike to bike, and over the years it will only get more beautiful with use and time.

Fits ergo bars, flat-top bars, drop bars, pursuit bars, bullhorns, and more.

The actual length of the wraps is longer than that to accommodate for the braiding. The sew-on section is midway down the wraps and is designed to fit around a section of 1" (25.4mm) diameter bar, where it's stitched under the brake hoods. Leather weighs approximately 4.5oz (128g).

The bull whip braid is unique and creative that gets attention

I was able to wrap Left over Right on the left top and Right over Left on the right top of the handle bars to make it unique. The brown color of the wraps matches my brown Brooks B17 saddle. Overall I am delighted with this product.

Awesomeness

This is for disciplined people who fondly remember the Rubiks cube. You wont get it the first time but that is part of the fun. It is well worth the trip of learning this skill- I loved learning to do the braiding BUT DO NOT lose the diagrams or the instructions. The Youtube was valuable but you will need the diagrams!! I put the letters on each strip on the underside about 6 times, you will refer to them. Once you get in the rhythm it's fast.

its all in the fingers

Firstly, beautiful bar wrap, perfect match for Brooks products. Not only is the leather wonderful, but also, the braided pattern is classy as all hell.
Secondly, four strand braiding around a tube through sharp turns is tricky. I had to develop a working pattern for my fingers. Once I had that down I could work on the details. This is a great traditional look for your cycle.

Bull wrap mustache

I love this bull wrap, I was was challenged when braiding these and as you can see, I didn’t do as clean of a job as others have. I did follow the instructions and still didn’t get the wrap tight enough to eliminate movement on the bar. I actually prefer the gaps in the tape though (Contrast) and so I pulled the wrap and used hockey tape on the bar to secure the wrap over the top. It’s solid now! The bar tape is the first thing people notice on my Mixte build 👍
