Fish Leather Edition: 

This is our classic Original Travel Cribbage Board, made with an experimental material we were able to get in very limited quantities: fish leather! 

Fish leather is tanned fish skins. It is an ancient craft still practiced today in Iceland and being revived in Canada and the Pacific Northwest. It's experiencing a resurgence of interest among hobbyists worldwide. And it makes great use of what is often a fishing industry waste product. 

The fish leather is thinner than the cow leather we normally use. Each piece is unique and we can only get usually one cribbage board per skin. Fish leather is hard to come by, laborious to tan as a hobbyist, and it is a much more expensive material. The skins come from different sources: 

• Halibut: The dark and light halibut skins were tanned by a Pacific Northwest hobbyist from fish he caught himself. These skins feel a little sandpaper-y because still have the scales on (to some extent). The Dark Halibut skin is particularly thin. 
• Salmon: The salmon skin comes from Iceland, where this craft is practiced widely. It is thickest of the three and does not have scales. The salmon leather board is monogrammed with our name in silver letters on the backside. 

Each listing is for the "Board Only" with "Cast Pegs". Due to the thin leather, we do not recommend Wire Pegs for this board. Gift sets (playing cards + bags) and replacement parts sold separately.
