The Gift of Convenience
We're offering new order scheduling as a customer service gift of convenience.
Why are we doing this? Because of how often have we ourselves have wanted to buy someone a birthday gift weeks or months in advance rather than remember to go shopping on a certain date! And also to automatically get advice on ship date with the current uncertainty around shipping and differing practices by business.
You can schedule orders and deliveries up to a year in advance. (This is not a subscription: payment is required up front.)
How to Schedule Order Shipping in Advance
Through an order note (we read every note!) or there's a specific date field on the listing like for the Handmade Gift Basket.

What It Does, and What It Doesn't
With increasing shipping costs, delays, strikes, and service changes, it is harder than ever to predict when an order will arrive. We can help our customers with this scheduling service, using the best knowledge we have from shipping regularly.
How It Happens:
When you check out your order, you provide us with two important pieces of information that we have to weigh:
- The ideal delivery date (when you want the recipient to get it)
- Which shipping carrier and service you selected
We then use our best judgment knowing current delivery ranges and accuracy, and distance it needs to travel, to schedule a shipping day for your package. We schedule this day based on the regular availability of our current schedule, according to our Shipping Policy.
We will do our best to ship your package so that it will arrive timely to your preferred delivery date using the shipping method you've chosen.
But This Is Not a Delivery Guarantee.
Read the Important Caveats On Our Page, Schedule Gifts in Advance, Including:
- Preferred delivery dates that are on a postal holiday or weekend will be scheduled for at least one postal delivery day in advance.
- This is not a guarantee of a delivery date. Once we submit the package over the shipping carrier, it is in their hands to deliver. Packages may still experience delays, mishandling, as normal.
- During busy shipping seasons like the holidays, we may ship a few days early in order to build in a buffer, in anticipation of delays.
- We have shipping insurance according to our Shipping Policy for loss or damage. Shipping insurance does not guarantee delivery dates.
- USPS Ground Advantage (and Free Shipping) delivery estimates are difficult to predict and vary widely.
- Choose a guaranteed shipping service like UPS/FedEx 2-Day or Overnight for more accurate delivery dates.
- If you've requested a delivery date that is improbable based on the time allowed and/or shipping method chosen in the order, the best we can do is ship it as fast as possible using our normal delivery schedule in accordance with our Shipping Policy.
