We get a lot of questions about u-lock dimensions! Our current rack-mounted and frame-mounted u-lock holster designs only accommodate one size of lock and those exterior dimensions of the lock are not published by the manufacturers on their websites.

U-lock companies give the measurements of their u-locks based on the size of the hole in the middle of the lock, not the outside dimensions. This is an important dimension to know for fitting your bike around a rack, but doesn't help with storing and stashing the lock between rides. It can make lock holster and storage ordering confusing.

Our U-Lock Holsters are designed to fit the exterior dimensions (length x width) of a Kryptonite Mini-Evo 5, which is 5.5" x 7.25".

Kryptonite's website gives the dimensions of the Kryptonite Mini-Evo 5 lock as 3.25" x 5.5", which is the size of the hole in the middle (screen shot below).

I love the holder, but It makes me worried that’s just another thing someone could steal off my bike.
