Since we first partnered with Rejuvenation Hardware in 2012, our Leather Drawer Pulls and Handles collection has expanded and transformed. In this post, we lay our entire collection in renderings and tables to show the relative size of all our handles, with a human for scale!

The Importance of Relative Size and Scale
Names, colors, materials, hardware, labels, sizes, points of contact, projection off the cabinet surface, strap widths... there are a lot things to consider when picking handles!
Sometimes having variety can get confusing. In this post, we'll both explain how our names and sizes came about, then organize the information in two new resources or tools: renderings and a data table.
With these new resources, we're organizing the nitty gritty details of our handle data. This information will help you pick the best leather handles for your projects with visualizations, transparency, and informed choice.
How Our Handle Collection Developed With Rejuvenation Hardware
We first designed our leather handles and pulls collection in partnership with Rejuvenation Hardware in 2012. Designers at the company approached us about creating leather and wood handles and pulls, which resulted in the Hawthorne, Burnside, and Tilikum styles.
Rejuvenation called these handles the "Holdridge" collection. In addition we collaborated on a walnut wood Hook Rack with leather straps.
At that time, Rejuvenation was a family-owned company based in our hometown of Portland, Oregon. After some time of successful partnership, the company was bought by Williams-Sonoma and decided to alter our designs and have them produced overseas instead.
After that partnership fell through, we went on to expand and grow our handle collection, being responsive to customer requests for larger, wider, mixed-materials, and smaller handles.
Relative Size Names like "Large" and "Small"
When we first named handles with relative signifiers like "Large" and "Small," it was in relation to those first Rejuvenation handles.
But with time, as our handle designs expanded and evolved, those relative names had less meaning. For example, we created new handles that were more refined and much smaller, than our previously "Small" handles.
Comparing Leather and Metal Colors from a Distance
Our handles now come in four different leather colors and three different metal finishes: that's a total of 12 variations per style, plus some handles have multiple sizes!
We created these renderings to show you how each variant looks compared to each other, and at a distance. Just as if you walked into a showroom kitchen and saw them from across the room. This is the best way to visualize what you'll see in person and make an informed choice.
Checking Dimensions: Strap Width, Projection, C2C Hole Spaces, Surface Area
Sometimes you need to select a handle by its exact dimensions: such as a minimum projection for a tight corner, or a 1" width to match other elements in the room.
Our new table lays out the details of our handle dimensions, and allows you to sort or match accordingly:
Leather Strap Width
Our handles come in a variety of leather strap widths: 5/8", 3/4", 1", and 1.25". Some people like to mix and match accordingly. Generally speaking, designers often recommend wider widths and larger surface areas below counter height to "anchor" what's below, and skinnier straps up above to lighten the effect.
"Footprint" or Surface Area: Installed Width x Installed Height
Each handle takes up a different "footprint" on the cabinet or door surface. The width x height species how much surface area they take up. This can be especially useful when trying to hide or cover up existing holes.
Projection
We also provide an approximate dimension for how far a handle "projects" off the door / drawer. This is the 3D dimension standing up off the surface. This is especially important when the handles need to act as "bumpers" or buffers against walls or corners, or need to fit in tight spaces like sliding doors or narrow passages. A larger projection is easier to grasp.
Center-to-Center (C2C) Spacing
Handles have two points of contact connecting it to the drawer/door surface, so they have a specific dimension between the hardware holes. This is called center-to-center spacing. (Pulls/knobs only have one point of contact). The table indicates which handles have two points of contact (or could, if extra hardware kits are purchased) and the C2C spacing between each. This is especially useful when trying to find handles that match existing holes.
How to Use the Dimensional Table
- Open the Google Sheet and "Save As" a new copy on your own drive/computer.
- Now you can sort, filter, or organize the handles according to your needs, such as by strap width.
How to Use the Relative Size Renderings
In this folder are renderings of our entire handle collection, exported in each combination of leather color + metal finish. Open each one of interest to see which you like best.
All of our handle variants and sizes are in each other picture. Use the key to the right to identify which handle(s) you like best.
Some variations have the metal hardware blending in tonally with the leather color, such as black leather with black hardware, or honey leather with brass. While some provide a contrast, letting the hardware stand out and match other metal elements in a project, such as a black leather with nickel hardware or natural leather with black hardware:
