Chicago screws are getting expensive, fast! To help our customers adapt to the times, we're offering new installation hardware options to go with our leather handles and pulls. These options lower hardware costs, increase customization possibilities, and decrease waste.

"No Hardware" Option

The new "No Hardware" option is available for all our leather handles and pulls. This means the product only includes the leather handle, not the hardware kit used to install the handle to the wall / door / cabinet / drawer.
The "No Hardware" option is a jumping-off point for many possibilities:
-
DIY your own hardware from another vendor or store:
- This is a good option for customers who feel comfortable choosing their own hardware at the store and may allow them to save costs.
- Customers can also find metal finishes not available on our site, such as Antique Brass or Copper.
- Swap out our standard hardware kit with a different Drawer Pull Hardware Kit we offer, purchased separately.
- Omit or add washers (learn more)
- Replace with the new wood screw kit
- Mix and match metal finishes (learn more)
Customer-provided kits will also lower the carbon footprint of these handles and decrease wastes:
- Hardware is heavy for shipping, requiring more fuel during transit and increasing postage costs
- Customers can be more efficient by picking the perfect hardware to fit their project. Our standard hardware kits come with four different back screws to meet a variety of customer needs. But customers only typically need one back screw (if they knew the right one to use). Although we offer re-use if customers ship the excess back to us, this adds another trip through the mail.
DISCLAIMER: Use your own hardware at your own risk and on your own time. Walnut Studiolo's customer service and free design advice is not available to help customers source other hardware elsewhere.
New Wood Screw Kit for Direct Installations

Our new Wood Screw kit offers more installation options for all our handles. Unlike our standard Chicago Screw assembly, the pointy-ended wood screw drills directly into the surface, relying on the point and the threads to "bite" into the surface sufficiently to stay in place. It can be installed in places where you cannot reach the backside of the surface. This is a "one-way" installation.
Unlike the wood screws, our standard Chicago screw assembly requires installers to drill clean through the surface and be able to reach around the backside to thread the two pieces together. The Chicago Screw provides the strongest connection, but it is expensive and specialty hardware.
They are available in our 3 standard metal finishes: Black, Brass, and Nickel as option in the Drawer Pull Hardware kit listing.

To order wood screw kits for your handles:
- Choose the "No Hardware" option on the pull / handle listing and add to cart
- Go to the Drawer Pull Hardware kit listing and add the number of wood screw kits you need. Each handle is listed in the description with how many kits you need (for example, 2 for each Sellwood/Tilikum/Flanders and 4 for each Morrison).
DISCLAIMER: These wood screw kits are recommended for "light duty" to "medium duty" applications, not heavy drawers.
