Single-ingredient, estate-grown herbal teas from our garden to your cup. Grown using organic, no-chemical methods in our biodiverse and regenerative homestead garden. Air-dried simply in small batches. 

The Garden-Grown Difference

Chefs and herbalists alike know that how a plant is grown matters for its taste and phytochemical composition.* When Valerie's mother first brewed her apple-smelling garden-grown chamomile tea, she exclaimed, "So THIS is what Chamomile is supposed to taste like!"

The Looseleaf, Whole Herb Difference

Commercial tea bags are usually filled with nearly-powdered plant material. The small grind creates the most "bang for the buck" for manufacturers by providing a more powerful brew with a smaller amount of material ... but it also goes stale faster. Stale material can have a completely different flavor. 

Our herb teas are looseleaf. We "garble" the herbs through a very coarse 1/2" mesh screen for a homogenous texture but the teas are still considered looseleaf. 

Simple Herbs, Simply Prepared

Our teas are sold in 1/2 ounce looseleaf bags or individually pre-bagged in compostable paper drawstring bags.

Looseleaf tea has a more mild flavor but it can be brewed more than once and maintain the same flavor. 

Our herbs are dried simply in moving room temperature air, as it's been done for generations, or in limited quantities: freeze-dried. 

To freeze-dry, we take our fresh garden product directly to our home-scale freeze-drying machine. Freeze-drying requires a specialty machine to dehydrate foods through rapidly freezing down to -40 degrees, then lowering the pressure with a vacuum, removing the ice via sublimation.Because of the low temperatures, the herb retains more of its original qualities: its color, shape, nutrients, and aromatics are closer to fresh. 

Caffeine-Free Herb Teas

• Chamomile.Flowers of Matricaria chamomilla. Aromatic with a mild, natural apple scent. Used by generations for relaxation, stress relief, sleep, and digestion.* 
• Spearmint. Leaf of Mentha spicata. Mild, sweet mint flavor. Lovely with a little sugar for a Middle East inspired tea, iced or hot.  
• Peppermint.Leaf of Mentha piperita. Cooling, sharp, spicy mint flavor. Used by generations as a digestion aid.*
• Red Raspberry. Leaf ofRubus idaeus. Tannic with a fruity aroma. Used by generations of women during and after pregnancy and monthly cycle support:* "girl's best friend."  
  
• Anise Hyssop (aka Licorice Mint.) Leaf and flower of Agastache foeniculum.Sweet, mild anise flavor. Less well-known member of the mint family creates a calming, grounding experience or a refreshing iced tea.* 

How to Brew Our Herbal Tea (Herbal Infusions)*

1. Boil 8 oz (250ml) of hot water. 
2. Use one pre-bag per cup, or for looseleaf: measure 1-3 tsp per cup in your favorite tea strainer. (We include a reusable cotton muslin tea bag in our looseleaf bags, wash before first use.) 
3. Steep 5-10 minutes and remove solids with the strainer. 
4. Breathe deeply and enjoy. For iced tea, place brewed tea in refrigerator for up to 3 days.
